Frequently Asked Questions

Here we will post frequently asked questions.

The Alert Command is very easy to install. You can do it yourself or hire an RV technician. There are only 8 wire connections needed for full operation or if you are only using it to monitor shower power (no generator installed) it only needs 4 wires connected.

Absolutely. As RVers ourselves, we understand you might not use your RV throughout the entire year. We can pause your texting service and billing for any length of time you want. When you are ready, you can enter a re-activation order, and we’ll reactivate your service.

We’ve tested the Alert Command on most Onan RV generators. As long as you can identify the following 4 wires on your generator’s wiring harness the Alert Command should be compatible.

  • Start wire
  • Stop wire
  • Run wire
  • Ground wire

Shore power is monitored on the 120V side of your transfer switch. This allows the Alert Command to monitor shore power right from the source (power pedestal). Over the years we have found this to be the most reliable method of shore power monitoring.
